I love the Tour Down Under, that’s no secret. Having grown up in Adelaide the annual event is simply a part of South Australian culture.
World road champion Peter Sagan returned to the race for the first time since 2010. The Slovakian star was a clear crowd favourite along with Aussies Richie Porte (the eventual winner) and Caleb Ewan. Other international names included Esteban Chaves, Robert Gesink, and Sergio Henao.
Having been to our fair share of TDU’s Jason and I tend to map out our week as we go along, making sure we make the most of our time at home. This year’s visit took us to the event start at Unley, then to Stirling and Paracombe for stage two, up to Lobethal on Friday before the penultimate climb up Willunga Hill.
We documented every latté, Sagan-sighting, wheelies and more across the week on our iPhones. Check out the best from the 2017 Santos Tour Down Under below.
