2016 Grand Prix Glamour on the Grid

Motorsport isn’t exactly everyone’s cup of tea but what many fail to realise, especially a lot of us girls, is the allure and prestige that goes hand in hand with Formula 1 racing. It’s a regal occasion that graces some of the richest countries in the world, including the likes of Monaco and Dubai, so to have such an esteemed event in our very own backyard is an experience not to be missed.

The 2016 Formula 1® Rolex Australia Grand Prix started in true style with Wednesday night’s Glamour on the Grid opening party held trackside at Albert Park. Jason and I started our evening at Crown’s equally as glamorous The Waiting Room bar before we made our way onto the track, for real, straight down pit lane past the team garages and into the exclusive Lounge area.

My jewels for the night included the most ah-mazing cushion cut 3 carat diamond earrings and a stunning original 1930s Art Deco 2.5 carat diamond ring both from Rutherford.

Sneaky Sound System got the party started as guests mingled over Mumm and Darren Purchese F1 themed desserts. I spied RnB one-hit wonder Mario as well as racing identities, local celebrities and Australian Grand Prix ambassador Brit Davis (you can read more about Brit here).

The night couldn’t have been a more perfect welcome to the start of the Formula 1 season on our shores as we get set for a glittering weekend of world-class racing action.
